Strategic Financial Analysis and Evaluation

International and local best practices in financial institution recognize that good financial analysis is the basic for successful and sustainable financial operation. Most experienced financial players would even say that without proper financial analysis your institution will never achieve sustainability. Financial statements Analysis plays very important role for management decision making. To get accurate analysis of financial statement by looking at past and current's performance for future prediction and to comply with applicable regulations to Banks and Financial Institutions, it requires responsible and quality employees to have enough capacity to use the variety of methods to analyze those statement reports and it also requires them to clearly understand and prepare the financial statement accurately.

Objectives

After completion of this course, the participants will:

• Realize financial statement for financial institutions
• Deeply analyze financial statement for financial institutions
• Gain practical experiences of actual versus plan analysis
• Understand how to prepare financial statement reports
• Know about the key requirement of financial reports to management and related offices

1. Financial statement analysis
• What is financial analysis?
• Goal in analyzing financial statement
2. Types of financial statement analysis
• Horizontal analysis
• Vertical analysis
• Ratios analysis - CAMEL
3. Actual versus plan analysis
• Current month actual versus sale projection
• Cumulative month actual versus sale projection
4. Financial reports preparation
• Daily liquidity ratio, net worth & solvency ratio and liquidity analysis reports
• Monthly reports to Assets and Liabilities Committee (ALCO)
• Quarterly reports to Board of Director, Creditors, Independent Auditor
5. The key requirement of financial reports
• Report to National Bank of Cambodia, Board of Directors (BODs)
• Report to Assets and Liabilities Committee (ALCO) and Creditors
• Report to Investors/External Auditor and Other

Training Fee

• USD 170 per participant per two-day training course.
• USD 160 per participant for organization sending 3-5 participants to the course.
• USD 150 per participant for organization sending 6 participants up to the course.

This fee includes training materials, refreshments, lunch and certificate.

Payment Condition: There is no charge for any cancellation which is made by the deadline of the registration. Cancellation after deadline of the registration and participants appearing without proper cancellation will be charged the full amount.

Methodology

The training methodology will be focused on experience based and participatory approaches including brainstorming, group discussion with presentation, sharing hand-on experience, training game and participants’ problem raised during training workshop.

Trainers

Mr. TUY Sovannara, Senior Faculty of ACLEDA INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS

Born on 1978, he obtained a Master's Degree of Business Administration (MBA) major in Finance from National University of Management, Cambodia in 2011.He also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English for Business Communication (English Based, International Program) from Pannasastra University of Cambodia in 2012. He gained a Bachelor of Economics in Banking and Finance at Norton University, Cambodia in 2000. He has attended numerous short courses on finance and banking, training of trainer, management and leadership which were organized by ACLEDA Bank Plc. since 2000. He started working for ACLEDA Bank Plc. as a credit officer in 2000 and was promoted as a chief of credit officer in 2001. He moved to work as an Auditor in 2003 and was changed to Accountant at Operation Department, Headquarter, ACLEDA Bank Plc. in 2004. He was promoted as an Assistant Vice President and Manager of Accounting Unit at Trade Finance Division in 2007. He became a Senior Specialist at Trade Finance Division in 2013. He has been assigned as a member of trainer pool of ACLEDA Bank Plc. since 2007 and responsible for delivering training courses on task of accountant, financial and accounting management, financial statement analysis, planning andbudgeting, ratio analysis, off- balance sheet entry of trade finance, set up credit line, input loan in bulk into system, and prepared monthly reports to management. He currently holds a position as a Senior Faculty, specialized in finance and accounting at ACLEDA INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS (AIB) since January 2016.

Mr. Hang Sophalline, Senior Faculty of ACLEDA INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS

Born on 1979, he obtained a Master's Degree of Business Administration (MBA) major in Management from National University of Management, Cambodia in 2006.

He also graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Accounting (BBA) at National Institute of Management in 2001. He has attended numerous short courses on finance and banking, training of trainer, management and leadership which were organized by ACLEDA Bank Plc. since 2001.

He started working for ACLEDA Bank Plc. as a credit officer in 2001 and was promoted as Assistant Vice President and Manager of Accountant branch in 2002.Then he moved to work at Headquarter as an Assistant Vice President and Manager of Budgeting and Control Unit at Finance Division, ACLEDA Bank Plc. in 2011. He currently holds a position as a Senior Faculty, specialized in finance and accounting at ACLEDA INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS.
