Ms. Phurik Ratana, Chairwoman

Cambodian and born in 1972, Ms. Phurik Ratana obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma (DEA) and was a PHD candidate in Industrial Economics, a Master of Science in Foreign Trade and a Master in Economics and Finance at University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She also is a CFA Charterholder.

Ms Phurik Ratana is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of ACLEDA INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS since December 2022. She also joined the Board of ACLEDA Bank Plc in November 2021 as Independent Director.

With 25 years of experience in investment, private sector development, finance and international trade, she has a strong background as a consultant/economist combined with hands-on experience in high-level management positions. She is currently a Private Sector and Investment senior consultant for various international organizations and Government bodies; and is on the advisory board of Khmer Enterprise, Impact Hub and SmallWorld. She is also a rating committee member in the newly Rating Agency of Cambodia. Previously Independent Director for a commercial bank in Cambodia from 2014 to 2021 and for I-Finance Leasing from 2018 to 2022, her previous positions in Cambodia include being the Executive Director of EuroCham Cambodia from 2014 to 2018, business consultant of DFDL, partner at the private equity firm Cambodia Emerald in 2008 and director of the CCFC (French Cambodian Chamber of Commerce). She worked also in Switzerland as portfolio manager for a Private Bank and as economist at UNCTAD.

Ratana is also strongly committed in capacity building and excellence in education, particularly in the finance sector. She is the founder and chairperson of the Cambodia Community of Investment Professionals (CFA Community in Cambodia) to build local skills in finance while promoting Cambodia as an investment destination. Their flagship event, the CFA research challenge in Cambodia has become a recognized competition aiming to train University Students teams in new finance skills such as equity valuation. In addition, she is regularly involved as a judge and mentor in several local and international startup competitions, including student challenges like SmartSpark.
