About the organisers

Frankfurt School of Finance & Management is one of Europe's largest training institutes for commercial banks and other financial institutions worldwide. Its activities target the needs and requirements of the financial sector. Frankfurt School is built upon four pillars: Educational Programmes, Educational Consulting in Germany, Research and International Advisory Services. For the last 15 years Frankfurt School has further been providing innovative banking training and consultancy services worldwide.

Launched in 2000, Frankfurt School's Summer Academies have become a high-standard microfinance practitioner training programme with an excellent reputation world wide. We have successfully enlarged our Summer Academy programme to include the Housing Finance Summer Academy in 2008 and the Sustainable Energy Finance Summer Academy for the first time in 2010. All Summer Academies offer the participants, in-depth technical know-how and effective practical tools to manage change and lead their institutions in dynamic markets. Our goal is to provide a one-stop platform where you can obtain integrated training and gain new insights — both from the experienced faculty and from networking with other participants.

For many years, ACLEDA Bank Plc. has led retail banking in Cambodia as a financial service provider to micro and small entrepreneurs. In response to a growing financial sector ACLEDA Bank Plc gradually generated subsidiary companies, ACLEDA Bank Lao Ltd, ACLEDA Securities, and ACLEDA Training Center.

ACLEDA Bank's Training Division, established in 2000, played a crucial role in building the capacity of ACLEDA staff to contribute to the Bank's success over the years. With the generous support of the Royal Government of Cambodia, and co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW, in 2008 ACLEDA Bank Plc formed "ACLEDA-ASEAN Regional Microfinance Training Center" to provide training locally and internationally, focusing on MFIs in the ASEAN Region plus China. In August 2011, in a strategic response to the growth of training needs ACLEDA Bank Plc merged the Training Division and the ACLEDA-ASEAN Regional Microfinance Training Center into the "ACLEDA Training Center" (ATC). ATC provides training to ACLEDA staff as well as local and international participants from other organizations.

The Winter Academy is based on the experiences of Frankfurt School's Summer Academies and the high class regional training expertise of ATC combining international best practices and regional knowhow.

This one week program will give you the chance to learn from international best practices in microfinance as well as getting hands-on experiences through the practical orientation and field visits.
