Risk Management

Businesses especially banks or financial institutions are perceived to be inevitably involved in risks which may arise from internal and external factors that can prevent from achieving the business objectives. The internal factors can arise from people, process, governance, and information technology while the external factors can be caused by economy, competition, environment, etc. For this reason, those institutions have identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored on risks as a part of the Bank's risk management in order to manage all potential risks in a robust and effective manner.

After completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Be aware the concept of risk management and the institution's risk maturity which could identify where improvements can be made.
  • Be aware the benefits of risk management, the organizational structure, the role and responsibilities, the setting of risk appetite & risk tolerances in the institution.
  • Conduct the risk assessment with the facilitation techniques to make participants could conduct risk assessment workshops more interactive, efficient, and effective way.
  • To select appropriate actions and controls to mitigate the risk in their institution.
  • Communicate risks to all levels in their institution, and to external stakeholders.

  • USD 127 per participant.
  • USD 115 per participant for organization sending 3-5 participants to the course.
  • USD 104 per participant for organization sending 6 participants up to the course.
  • This fee includes training materials, refreshments, lunch and certificate.

Methodology

Trainer

Mr. TEP Bunthoeun
Senior Vice President & Head of Risk Management Division at ACLEDA Bank Plc.

Mr. TEP Bunthoeun is a Senior Vice President & Head of Risk Management Division at ACLEDA Bank Plc. and He is also a secretary of the Board of Risk Management Committee. In his work experience, He has worked for over thirteen years, including more than ten year in internal audit and risk management.

He started working for the Bank in 2002 by passing many position such as Accountant, Branch Internal Auditor, Deputy Manager of Financial Audit Unit, Manager of Saving & Transfer Audit Unit, VP & Deputy Head of Risk Management Division, and the he was promoted to current position according to his good performance and capacity in Risk Management, Internal control, and Corporate Governance. In his responsibilities in risk management and internal audit work, He has conducted many training courses to the Bank's management and staffs including its foreign subsidiaries on risk management, fraud prevention and detection, and internal audit practice and He has provided training courses and presentation on Risk Management to some financial institutions both in country and foreign country e.g Tajikistan and China since he nominated as a member of Trainer Team in 2006.

He attended advanced course in Enterprise Risk Management and numerous training courses related to Basel principles, corporate governance, internal control, and internal audit from both prestigious local and international institutions.

He obtained a Master's degree of Finance and Banking (MFB) from National University of Management, Cambodia. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) majoring in accounting at Norton University.
